Michigan Financial Opportunity Corps members commit their term of service to supporting their community’s financial well-being through various projects: hosting local VITA tax service and Show Me The Money Day resource fairs, facilitating financial education workshops and preparing clients for foreclosure prevention services.

During the 2016-17 program year, MFOC members…

  • Improved the financial ability of 980 Michigan residents
  • Recruited 114 volunteers who served 745 hours total
  • Helped 790 homeowners avoid foreclosure
